Overview of Position

Fire & Safety is hiring a showroom sales and marketing associate who will give our customers and visitors a first impression of our company when they arrive or call in. We are looking for someone that will be able to connect with our clients and maintain a positive relationship with customers in person and through social media posts and engagements, as well as other marketing opportunities such as creating and delivering email campaigns, print/mailed advertisements, updates to our website, etc. This individual will also assist with shipping and receiving duties for sales.

Responsibilities

Store/Sales Associate Duties

  • Upsell to customers through recommendations.
  • Check out customers, handle cash or credit card payments.
  • Clean the store and ensure products are properly displayed before the store opens.
  • Organize merchandise on shelves and restock them when they become empty.
  • Find and retrieve store merchandise.
  • Advise customers concerning products or services.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, services, pricing, and promotions.
  • Perform routine inventory counts and submit reports as needed.
  • Carry out other store administrative tasks as directed.
  • Receiving incoming shipments of products, labeling products.
  • Shipping orders to customers, warranty returns, etc.
  • Ensure inventory is maintained in the show trailer.
  • Track and inventory sales marketing materials for salesmen such as tablecloths, banners, literature, etc.

Receptionist Duties

  • Receptionist duties such as answering phone calls.
  • Directing visitors.
  • Responding to all customer inquiries in a polite and timely manner.

Social Media/Marketing Duties

  • Writing text posts that inform and engage audiences.
  • Posting photos and graphics with captions
  • Including relevant hashtags to boost a post’s visibility on a platform.
  • Responding to comments on posts, directly engaging with followers
  • Holding special contests and giveaways that encourage followers to share, like, comment and repost an organization’s content, boosting visibility.
  • Conducting customer service over comments and private messages, including handling customer issues, or directing them to the proper department
  • Monitoring the success of posts by reviewing metrics such as comments, likes, shares, views, and clicks.
  • Creating social media campaigns around a specific theme, topic, or advertising strategy.
  • Marketing products, services, and events on behalf of their organization or the individual they post for.
  • Monitoring website orders and sales and referring them as needed.
  • Referring website inquiries to the proper department.
  • Updating items and item descriptions on website.
  • Assist in creating and delivering other marketing materials such as email campaigns, print/mailed advertisements, etc.
  • Assist in attending local business marketing events in our area as needed.
  • Other office/secretarial duties as assigned.

  • Facebook and/or Instagram experience and ability to create posts that will engage with our audience.

The ideal candidate will possess one or more of the following:

  • Experience creating content for an organization, proven ability to connect with audience.
  • Experience in a retail setting.
  • Experience using Canva or other design software to create content.
  • Marketing or Graphic Design certification or degree
