    What is First Aid?

First aid refers to medical attention that is usually administered immediately after the injury occurs and at the location where it occurred. It often consists of a one-time, short-term treatment and requires little technology or training to administer.

First aid can include cleaning minor cuts, scrapes, or scratches; treating a minor burn; applying bandages and dressings; the use of non-prescription medicine; draining blisters; removing debris from the eyes; massage; and drinking fluids to relieve heat stress.

OSHA’s revised record keeping rule, which went into effect January 1, 2002, does not require first aid cases to be documented. For example: A worker goes to the first-aid room and has a dressing applied to a minor cut by a registered nurse. Although the registered nurse is a health care professional, the employer does not have to report the accident because the worker simply received first aid.

    Onsite Training:

Do you have a group of people that need training?  We also offer on-site First Aid classes for your church, daycare, business or school.  Call to get more information about on-site First-Aid training.

    Training Overview

First-aid and CPR training is conducted using the conventional methods of training such as lecture, demonstration, practical exercise and examination (both written and practical). The length of training is sufficient to assure that trainees understand the concepts of first aid and can demonstrate their ability to perform the various procedures.

The First Aid Training Class is designed to meet the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training requirement as stated in OSHA’s First Aid Standard. This program is in compliance with and satisfies Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations at 29 CFR 1910.151.

    AED Training

AED’s are used in life-threatening cardiac emergencies and knowing how to use one can save a life. We offer classes in the proper use of AED’s combined with CPR. Call today for more information or to schedule a class.
